Fact-Checking Policy

At NewsGatha, we are committed to publishing accurate, reliable, and well-sourced information. Accuracy is the foundation of our reputation and the trust our readers place in us. To uphold this, we follow a multi-layered fact-checking process:

a) Accuracy and Verification

  • We investigate claims with healthy skepticism, question assumptions, and challenge conventional wisdom.
  • Every article must be well-sourced, based on available evidence, and corroborated with independent verification whenever possible.
  • We avoid unfounded speculation and remain transparent about what we don’t yet know.

b) Due Accuracy

  • We strive for “due accuracy,” meaning that the level of verification and scrutiny is appropriate to the subject, complexity, and sensitivity of the content.
  • Where limitations exist (such as lack of available evidence or breaking news constraints), they are clearly mentioned.

c) Editorial Integrity

  • Our writers and editors never plagiarize or deliberately distort facts, quotes, statistics, or visuals.
  • Allegations, material facts, and claims—especially those made by public officials or organizations with vested interests—are attributed clearly.
  • Stories undergo editorial review before publication, with senior editors reviewing sensitive or complex reports.

d) Corrections and Updates

  • While we stand by the accuracy of our reporting, mistakes can happen. If proven otherwise, we correct factual errors quickly and transparently.
  • Articles that are updated or corrected will carry an Editor’s Note at the end, clarifying the changes made.
  • Corrections are also reflected across all relevant platforms, including social media.

e) Reader Participation

We encourage our readers to play an active role in maintaining accuracy. If you spot any error, please reach out to us:
